Training/OJG

If you’re a business owner and have a need for employee training, this is for you.
What is the Ontario Job Grant?
The Ontario Job Grant (OJG) provides direct financial support for Ontario employers to purchase training for their workforce. Funding for the Ontario Job Grant is provided in part by the Government of Canada through the Canada–Ontario Labour Market Development Agreement. The employer pays for training upfront and is reimbursed, if eligible, for 5/6 of training costs (for businesses with less than 100 employees).
How much funding can an employer receive from the Ontario Job Grant?
The Ontario Job Grant supports eligible training costs up to a maximum of $10,000 per participant, per training, per year.
Who is eligible for the Ontario Job Grant?
Employers in Ontario that identify a training need in their organization and who meet one of the following criteria, may qualify for the OJG: the training must create a job, maintain a job by avoiding layoff or improve a job with hours/salary/title.
How can applications be submitted/how long does it take?
Applications are online at: www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-job-grant. Service Providers request a time period of 2-3 weeks for the application to be processed, before the training start date.

Still have questions?
The Ontario Job Grant (OJG) applies to all kinds of training, not just Accounting, Payroll and QuickBooks training offered by Accountapotamus. A hair salon might use it to send stylists to update their skills; an automotive shop might use it to have their staff trained in how to work with new technology as it applies to vehicle maintenance; an IT firm might use it to have their programmers trained in new applications in order to facilitate a move to cloud-based technology.
Please call our Training Coordinator, Paula Pappin, at 613-656-0441 x443, who would be happy to go over the OJG process with you.
